Player Unknown has been releasing more and more info on the upcoming 1.0 patch, this will come with the implementation of Vaulting and a New Map.

Hopefully it includes a large number of bug fixes, optimization, gameplay changes and, of course hopefully fixing the current issue with hackers in-game.

The question I have is related to the future of the genre as a whole, as we all know Battle Royal games are becoming more and more popular, but is PUBG a one time phenomenon? Will it be “King of the hill” forever? Will the genre move on in another direction, or will PUBG continue being the trendsetter for the entire industry?

I would hate to see this game genre stagnate, but I believe that at this point there isn't much competing. As we see with other companies, competition is what inspires improvement. The competing games just don't perform well and are really more afterthoughts in the case of Epic games' Fortnite Battle Royale. Without a competitor this may unfortunately be the pinnical of the battle royale genre.

What on Earth?

What is Earth2Luke? Well, Earth2Luke is a gaming community that was founded in 2013 by the community leader known as Luke. It all started from Hidden: Source, a mod you could play for free on steam, made from the source engine. From there, the community jumped around games from Garry's Mod to ARK, from Stronghold to RUST, and no who knows what's to come next. You'll just have to join and find out! :D
